The formula for Glycemic Guard™ contains two potent ingredients: Delphinol®, which is a maqui berry extract and Clovinol®, an extract of clove. The science behind the product:

Sugar, or glucose, is an absolutely necessary component in sustaining human life. When blood sugar levels become elevated, however, it poses a long-term threat to tissues, organs, and various bodily systems [1-3].

Standardized maqui-berry and water-soluble clove extract work by complementary mechanisms to suppress after-meal (postprandial) surges in blood sugar levels. Combined, these can help reduce the risk of tissue and cellular damage over time.

The maqui-berry extract has been found in a human study to lower postprandial rises in glucose levels in the body [4]. The reason for this may be that a standardized extract of maqui-berries contains delphinidins, which stimulate a certain peptide that lowers the postprandial blood sugar level [5].

Researchers found that water-soluble clove extracts can mitigate after-meal glucose surges by blocking the release of glucose from the liver [6]. In a human trial, clove extract flower dropped after-meal glucose levels to about the same as the before-meal values [7].
